Oceania (New Zealand and Australia)Welcome to the Oceania (New Zealand and Australia) section of the FIA Guide for the disabled traveller. Read this page, and then click on the country you intend to visit
New Zealand
AustraliaWhether or not your Parking Permit will be recognised depends on where you are from:
Note – The Australian Government launched an Australian Disability Parking Permit that is recognised in all its States and Territories. The national permit will also make it easier for enforcement officers to recognise permits and remove inconvenience for motorists travelling interstate. These changes will not, however, affect disabled visitors from abroad.
What you should always do:
Always - Ask locally, park sensibly and safely, obey the rules, enjoy your visit! Acknowledgement: Much of the information in this part of the Guide is derived from research by VicRoads which we gratefully acknowledge
Footnote: We have made every effort to ensure the information in the Guide is correct but cannot be held responsible for errors or omissions. You must always check the parking signs and ask locally if your Parking Permit / Card will be recognised. Only take advantage of parking concessions when you are completely satisfied it will be recognised |
