Where you may use your Parking Permit

Wherever the signs above are shown however, a Disabled Parking Disc issued by a specific local authority may not automatically be recognized by any other local authority within the borders of the Republic of South Africa (the onus would be placed upon the driver to ascertain if the disability parking disc is valid in another local authority).
Furthermore, disability parking discs from other countries are not recognized within the RSA. A driver would have to apply in advance at the Local Municipal Traffic Department.

Parking on roads

No restrictions on time limits otherwise stipulated at the location of the parking.

Parking in car parks

No restrictions on duration as long as the individual adheres to rules and regulations and costs indicated by the car park.
